A Creative Exchange Retreat in Mississippi

Over the course of 4 days, artists from different backgrounds come together to challenge and enrich each other’s work.

With time and space - Creatives can play, explore, collaborate, and experiment with new directions for their art in the culturally rich atmosphere of Mississippi.

Sometimes we need a little help from our friends.

Motherland Creative Retreat is for a select few visual artists, filmmakers, writers, musicians, curators, designers, dancers, and doers.

It supports creative exchange across disciplines. Learn from similar, yet beautifully different individuals, all while slowing down to the pace of Mississippi.

What will this retreat do for my art? My perspective?

Reset and find balance by deepening your connection to the land and your creative instincts.

Give yourself space to experiment with new ideas.

Enrich your work by learning new ways of making and thinking from other creatives.

Gain clarity by disconnecting from obligations and screens and absorb the environment while “slightly” roughing it.

Find creative community with artists from different disciplines and places.

Let Mississippi into your life and work with it’s charming people and places.

What will my time in Mississippi be like?

This sounds like my cup of tea!

Motherland would love to invite you into it’s creative circle!

If you are an artist in ANY shape or fashion, and at least 21 years of age - you are welcome to apply.

Founded on the idea of creative exchange, each artist is expected to give a 45 minute masterclass of their work and process and participate in pre-retreat snail mail collaborations with fellow artists.

Price?

The first annual Motherland Creative Retreat is FREE for participating artists thanks to help from the surrounding community. Hopefully I can keep this as a free offering for future creatives.
