About

Hey, I’m Angee. You can think of me as your nerdy, open-hearted friend. I love a good book, deep conversation and making beauty out of whatever life throws my way.

The truth about what I create:

The creative process is oh so good for your soul! It’s been a transformative and healing aspect of my life, even when I’m crawling from the depths of a painful experience.

I’m not interested in painting a perfect scene, instead I want to build something that shakes up your point of view. Like a person walking down a beach, I pick up a bit from here, a bit from there, and layer my findings on the canvas over time.

Painting has my back - it’s the friend I count on to absorb how deeply I experience the world and my link to kindred spirits. I play, unload, and tell stories through my paintbrush.

Making Meaning

I wholeheartedly believe that I can bring out the beauty in most anything, and even if it seems harsh now - there is a purpose.

A Little About my Past.

My passion for drawing led to private oil painting instruction in my early teens, foundational education from Memphis College of Art, and a BFA from the University of Memphis in 2014. I’ve had many creative professions dotting my path as a young artist such as Graphic Designer, Creative Educator, and Community Arts Director. Over the years, securing numerous grants aimed at enriching our local creative community has been a significant achievement. Among these efforts, offering the Motherland Creative Retreat in 2022 stands out—a nature-based artists retreat set in rural Mississippi.
